NHTOA Executive Board Meeting Report

A meeting of the NHTOA Executive Board was held on Monday, November 13 at the Hooksett Public Library. It was called to order at 5:36pm.

In attendance were Bob Brown, Doris Tuson, Paul Huard, Nancy Eastman, Chuck Zerbinopoulos, and Gary Custer.

The board read and reviewed a revised report of the 9/11 meeting and the report of the

10/16 meeting. Paul made a motion to accept the revised report and Chuck seconded it.

Paul made a motion to accept the report from 10/16 and Gary seconded it. The board

voted to accept both reports.

Doris handed to Nancy a list of the schools that had added new meets to their schedules after April 1 2006. Once those meets were announced, many of them were then cancelled (after we had assigned an official to cover the meets).

Paul gave a detailed Treasurer’s report. He handed out a paper which summarized last year along with this year. Insurance costs amounted to $1200 this year. This bill will now be due yearly on April lst. The current treasury balance is $2964.39. Nancy made a motion to accept this report and Chuck seconded it.

The board voted to accept this financial report.

Nancy gave a Supervisor’s report. She told us that the NHIAA fee will be increased by $2.00 for a total of $5.00 for each official’s name for 2007. The cost of each book may go up by $.50 per book. The dues to be paid to assigned officials for 2007 will be $74.00. The dues policy needs to be put in the bylaws and this amount will need to be included in the annual meeting notice to be sent to the membership.

Paul spoke of the recent Cross Country Class Meets and asked why it was held under such severe weather conditions. Nancy talked about the many issues and problems surrounding that day. A discussion followed. Nancy told us that she had been working on getting some of our officials paid for the larger regular season meets of last spring. All the schools had received notice of the new fees to be paid to officials with regard to the # of teams per meet. A motion was made by members to accept Nancy’s report and Bob seconded it. The board voted to accept this report.

Bob stated that we would use the January board meeting to plan and prepare for the annual meeting. Paul also indicated that he would put together a projected cost per member for that meeting.

Bob mentioned that Richard had worked on the evaluation form sending the paper to Bob for hand out. Copies were passed out and the board reviewed it with discussion and suggestions.

The board was informed of dates and location for the 2007 Outdoor Track end of the season meets as follows: May 26th: Class L — Merrimack

Class I-   ?

Class M&S - Gilford

June 2nd:  Meet of Champs – UNH

Several items were addressed briefly by the board. These included the rules test; shirts, etc. worn at a meet when not an assigned official for that meet; the need to put our application on the web site; and recent amendments not a part of Constitution as yet.

Gary discussed the need for new members to take the test alone for scoring purposes.

On December 4th, a single agenda board meeting will be held to work up the Constitution & Bylaws project.

Nancy made a motion to adjourn this meeting and Chuck seconded it. The meeting ended at 7:50 pm.
